Five Things You Didn’t Know About Jesse McCartney

1. He started his career with acting at the age of 7

He started on community theater stages before touring with The King and I as the character Louis. Since then, he has starred in shows like All My Children as JR Chandler, a role that earned him two Emmy Awards, and Summerland. He appeared as himself on Disney Channel shows The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana. He also starred in the independent film Keith, released in 2008. He has continued to make appearances in a few shows, such as Fear the Walking Dead and Young & Hungry in the last few years.

2. He was only 17 when his debut album Beautiful Soul was released in 2004 . . .

. . . Which makes him 31 years old now! He began singing with the pop boy band Dream Street at the age of 12 in 1999 until the group disbanded in 2002. He then released his debut album, which included popular singles “Beautiful Soul”, “She’s No You”, and “Get Your Shine On” in 2004. Even in his 30s, he’s still our favorite teen heartthrob.

3. He’s a successful songwriter.

Not only did his debut album Beautiful Soul, with many songs co-written by Jesse, reach #15 on the Billboard 200—he also co-wrote Leona Lewis’s international hit “Bleeding Love” with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder. The song reached number one in 35 countries and became the second song to reach number one in Japan, Germany, and the United States (the first was Candle In The Wind by Elton John).

4. His dog has an Instagram.

If you follow Jesse McCartney on Instagram, you may have seen his dog Bailey in a few posts. What you may not know is that Bailey has an Instagram of her own! The account follows Bailey the Dog, or @givethebayabone, through her daily life as the pup of Jesse McCartney and his girlfriend Katie Peterson. She also regularly dresses up to celebrate holidays!

5. He’s going on tour again!

Jesse took step back from the spotlight for a few years, but the teen heartthrob stepped back in the studio earlier this year and released his first new song since 2014 called “Better With You”. The Better With You Tour, announced via his Instagram on May 8th, will begin on June 15th in Atlanta, GA and end July 25th in Los Angeles, CA. Get your tickets now at!
